Music Announcement: Dogwood Rose

Opening this years festival are Dogwood Rose – a Sheffield based Americana trio featuring Judy Clifford on vocals, Mike Richards on guitar / vocals and Kiri Smith on fiddle. Judy and Michael have been playing and singing together for several years on the Sheffield folk circuit and beyond – Judy’s voice is frequently compared to Joan Baez: powerful, soulful singing. Kiri joined them, adding fiddle accompaniment and a 3rd voice for the strong harmonies, a varied set and a lot of fun!

Dogwood Rose last played Worrall Festival in 2015 and we’re looking forward to welcoming them back!

Jack’s Rake announced as Friday night headliner

We are pleased to confirm that Worrall Festival regulars Jack’s Rake will be back again this year headlining our Friday Folk concert on 1st July!

Jack’s Rake was formed after the four original members went climbing in the Lake District and stumbled upon a folk festival in the evening. They are now one of the leading folk bands in the Sheffield area with hints of the Pogues, Levellers, Chieftains & Bellowhead.

Sets consist of their own unique arrangements of traditional songs & tunes plus original compositions with one or two cover versions thrown in for good measure.

Friday night advance tickets are only £5.00 and can be purchased online here: http://www.wegottickets.com/event/362552

Fargo Railroad Co. announced as Saturday night headliners

We are excited to announce that The Fargo Railroad Co. will be returning to Worrall this year to headline our Saturday night concert on 2nd July.

For those who weren’t lucky enough to see them at Worrall Festival last year, Fargo are a southern rock styled band from Sheffield with hints of Ryan Adams and BlackBerry Smoke and playing all original material. In just over 2 years the band have headlined a sold out Greystones 2nd birthday show, Sheffield’s Plug and O2 academy, playing to a full room on both occasions and also supported Atlanta legends ‘Drivin n Cryin’, Nashvilles’ Warner E Hodges and Grammy nominated songwriter Will Hoge among others.
